What is Office 365?
Business today happens wherever it needs to happen. This means the tools and business products you use to get work done need to perform wherever you are. That's how Office 365 was designed––so that you can pursue your passion and grow your business anywhere, anytime. An integrated experience of apps and services, Microsoft Office 365 provides everything you need for your business to function including calendar, instant messaging, business email, video conferencing, and file sharing. It has all of the familiar Microsoft products you trust, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint––and because it's in the cloud, you never need to download software or buy the next version of Office; you are always up to date.
How do I know my PC or Mac can run Office?
Office 365 compatibility with both Mac and PC is great for multi-platform teams. That said, there are some specs you should be aware of. Computers that are running Windows 7, Windows 8 and Mac OS X 10.6 or later can use Microsoft Office 365. Computers running Windows XP, Windows Vista and earlier versions of Mac OS – from Mac OS X 10.5 or earlier are NOT supported. Business Premium or Business Premium Plus requires Windows 10, Windows 10 Server, Windows 8, Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2 or Mac OS X 10.10. Remember, product functionality and feature availability may vary on older system hardware. The latest version of any operating system specified above will provide the best user experience.
Why should I purchase Office 365 if I already have Office on my desktop?
There are two significant benefits Office 365 has over the desktop version: cloud syncing and automatic updates.
Downloaded versions of Office are available as a one-time purchase and include applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. These versions do not automatically update, so to get the latest version you have to purchase the product over and over again.
Office 365 is a cloud-based service so everything you do automatically syncs up to work together. With Office 365, you never need to buy Office again; you will always have the latest version at your fingertips, with all the features of the newest release.
Which desktop apps come with the Business Premium and Business Premium Plus plans?
All users can download the latest version of Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Yammer, Teams, and SharePoint.
I have a sizeable organization - can I use Microsoft® Office 365?
300 is the magic number. Our plans support organizations that require fewer than 300 users––but you can purchase up to 300 user accounts of each product. For example, you could purchase 300 accounts each of Online Essentials, Business Premium and Business Premium Plus, up to 900 user accounts total.
Does Office 365 work when I am not connected to the internet?
When you select the Business Premium or Business Premium Plus packages, the Office apps (ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are available to you when you are offline. You get 1TB of file storage with OneDrive in Office 365, that you can use to sync your files to and from your computer. So, changes made while offline will sync to OneDrive and when you reconnect, they will update across all of your devices.
